REA CodeScan App Update - Crypto Code and Performance Optimization

REA's CodeScan App is the essential app for decoding codes, understanding content and identifying errors. With the REA CodeScan App, we enable unrestricted analysis of codes used worldwide on all products, from all industries and application areas. 1D and 2D codes can be conveniently decoded with the CodeScan App via smartphone and the contents can be output readable in plain text.

Now we have released an update of our proven REA CodeScan app in the App Store and Google Play Store - with the new Crypto Code and further performance increase.

The Russian Crypto Code is a machine-readable code - initially only required for pharmaceutical products, but in the long term also for all other product areas - and serves to protect against counterfeiting. In terms of type, the Crypto Code is a Data Matrix Code with the error correction method ECC 200. Four data elements defined by Russian law that must be used are encoded in the code: Item Number, Serial Number, Crypto Key and Crypto Code. With the update of the REA CodeScan app, these can now also be decrypted and interpreted.

In addition to the code extension, we have improved the performance in this version. Among other things, we have updated GS1 Application Identifier tables, structure interpretations and scanner library. We have also fixed a few bugs that had crept in last time.
