Muehltal, March 10th, 2017 – 2017: The intralogistics is in the midst of digitalization. The demand for automation is growing rapidly, processes need to be intelligent, but also communicative. The networking between systems and plants in the sense of Industry 4.0 is an integral part of the logistics industry. With all the turmoil, the demand for high production rates, global traceability and flexibility are still focus of modern productions. This especially goes for the coding and marking of products and packages as well. In collaboration with the robotic provider Kawasaki, the coding and marking experts from REA have developed a robot-assisted coding and marking concept which meets the requirements of the digital transformation within intralogistics.
The innovative robotics system comprehends a Kawasaki robot and REA JET systems for the industrial coding and marking of products with different marking technologies. In addition, a REA VERIFIER can be integrated seamlessly for the inline verification of the applied codes. Products and packaging can be provided with 1D and 2D codes, logos and clear text by ink, laser or label. Thanks to individual coding, products become unique and are thus clearly identifiable. This is a central point for the optimization of processes within logistics and for an intelligent logistics management. All REA systems and components can be combined flexibly in combination with the robot. That allows a high degree of creative leeway for individual labeling tasks.

REA Systems meet central requirements for industry 4.0. State-of-the-art Ethernet interfaces enable modern and simple integration into almost all plants and systems. Thanks to the integrated web and VNC server, the coding and marking systems can be operated via web browser through all common and mobile touch PCs. The compact controller dimensions of the HR series enable an easy integration by using minimum space. Thus, they are first choice for machine manufacturers and systems integrators.
REA JET also shows competence with their pallet labeling system. Thanks to its modular design, this pallet labeling system can be adapted flexibly. The pallet labeling system, developed by REA JET, realizes the one-sided labeling on the longitudinal side, the two-sided labeling on the longitudinal and the face side, or the three-sided labeling on the longitudinal, face and rear sides. All options can be realized at standstill and in the throughput. When designing the system, it was set high value on a simple handling in daily operation. The system is operated via a user-friendly touch panel.
